Miltank Best Moveset
Crashed from A-tier as 80 Attack at 100 Speed behind Normal TermStab couldn't break through in a format with dedicated physical walls. AbilityThick Fat halves Fire and Ice damage, AbilityScrappy hits Ghosts with Normal moves, and hidden AbilitySap Sipper absorbs Grass. 95/105/70 bulk is real. E-tier because the offensive output doesn't threaten enough despite the defensive tools.
100 Speed, 105 Defense, and Milk Drink recovery in Gen II (Gold & Silver). Miltank was a physical monster that healed itself. Curse sets boosted it further.

Thick Fat gave Fire and Ice resistance in Gen III (Ruby & Sapphire). Heal Bell cleansed team status, and Milk Drink kept it at full health.
Support Moveset
- Milk Drink

Scrappy let Normal moves hit Ghost-types in Gen IV (Diamond & Pearl). Body Slam could now paralyze Gengar and other Ghosts that used to wall it completely.
Physical Tank Moveset
- Body Slam
- Milk Drink
- Heal Bell
- Earthquake
Recommended Teammates
Power creep caught up in Gen V (Black & White). 80 Attack wasn't threatening, and Fighting-types were everywhere to exploit the Normal typing.
Physical Tank Moveset
- Milk Drink
- Body Slam
- Heal Bell
- Ice Punch
Recommended Teammates
Same issues in Gen VI (X & Y). Support was nice but Miltank couldn't threaten opponents enough to justify the team slot anymore.

- Heal Bell
- Ice Punch
- Fire Punch

Three gens of stagnation in Gen VII (Sun & Moon). No new tools, and the defensive Normal niche was filled better by Chansey and Blissey.
Physical Tank Moveset
- Milk Drink
- Ice Punch
- Stealth Rock
- Body Slam
Recommended Teammates
Completely outclassed in Gen VIII (Sword & Shield). Everything Miltank could do, another Pokemon did better.
Hazard Setter Moveset
- Milk Drink
- Body Slam
- Power Up Punch
- Stealth Rock

Miltank Weakness
Fighting moves hit Miltank for super-effective damage. The upside? Ghost-type moves can't touch it at all. Thick Fat reduces Fire/Ice damage, further improving the defensive spread. Miltank's physical bulk (base 105 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

It is said that kids who drink Miltank’s milk grow up to become hearty, healthy adults.
Miltank Guide
Sap Sipper changes the entire equation for Miltank. The 490 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as a pivot.
Watch for Hitmonlee (Fighting) when using Miltank. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.
Sap Sipper is what you want on Miltank. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Thick Fat, Scrappy) work on paper but Sap Sipper is what makes Miltank worth using.
Base 100 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. On offense, Miltank is a physical attacker with base 80 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a pivot.
Run Milkdrink, Body Slam, Stomp, and Poweruppunch on Miltank. Milkdrink is the most common pick at 0% usage. Stomp provides reliable STAB damage.
