The hunter is a unique class in World of Warcraft because it is primarily a ranged attacker. Even though other classes can learn to use ranged weapons, none of them is as proficient in their deadly use as the hunter. To support the hunter’s ranged attacks, this class has two main advantages: a loyal pet and a wide array of movement-restricting spells.
Hunter Class Best Race
The Hunter Class Best Race has a couple of really strong choices, for Horde, you will likely want to choose Orc but Troll are also a strong option. Alliance have two strong picks Night Elf being the first and then the Dwarves which we recommend players use if they plan to PVP with this class.
- Best – Orc, Night Elf, Dwarves
- Average – Troll
- Weak – Tauren
- Not Available – Gnome, Undead, Humans

- Common Weapon Skills – One-Handed Axes or Daggers, Guns or Bows, Unarmed
- Advanced Weapon Skills – Crossbows, Fist weapons, Spears, Staves, One-Handed Swords, Two Handed Swords, Thrown, Two-Handed Axes
- Armor Type You Can Use – Cloth, Leather, Mail (Level 40)
Best Profession For Hunter
The best profession for hunter class is a choice between Engineering which can provide you with a lot of PVP Items, you will need to pair this with Mining as you will need lots of Ore. Leatherworking is another good choice as you can make your own Leather Armor, and with your pet, you will have no problem farming skinnable mobs in classic WoW.
- Best – Engineering + Mining OR Leatherworking + Skinning
World of Warcraft Classic Hunter Class Talent Spec
Hunter Spec Roles
We explain what roles you can fill as a Hunter, sadly this class is pretty much all DPS. it does, however, fill the DPS Role very well, and can even Off-Tank with the Beast Mastery Spec.
- Hunter DPS Spec – Marksmanship, Survival, Beast Mastery
- Hunter Healer Spec – N/A
- Hunter Tank Spec – Beast Mastery (Off-Tank)
Best Hunter Class Spec
We think Survival is the Best Hunter Class Spec, this is mostly because of Lighting Reflexes Talent which helps with your overall Agility Total Stat. Marksmanship is also a really strong talent spec, so much so that our recommended Hunter Talent Build below picks up some of these useful talents from the Marksmanship Tree. Beast Mastery is only recommended for players who plan on solo levelling as the hunter class as it will allow you to use your pet more effectively for tanking mobs.
- Best – Marksmanship, Survival
- Average – Beast Mastery
- Weak –
