Swalot Guide

  • Swalot brings 467 BST to the table. C-Tier on our list: a situational pick that fills a niche. That 100 base HP does the heavy lifting.

  • Watch for Swampert (Ground) and Espeon (Psychic) when using Swalot. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • Liquid Ooze damages opponents using leeching moves for as much as they would heal. That's the one you want on Swalot. Gluttony is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Sticky Hold works too if your team needs something different.

  • Swalot is a mixed attacker with base 73 Attack and 73 Sp. Atk. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. At base 55 Speed, it won't be moving first often.

  • Run Toxic, Bodypress, Destinybond, and Sludge Bomb on Swalot. Toxic is the most common pick at 0% usage. This set covers the balanced role with a mix of damage and utility.

Game Availability

Debuting in Ruby & Sapphire, Swalot appears in 15 games across 8 generations. A reliable presence in most mainline games, typically found through wild encounters.
