Emerald Desert Underpass
A tunnel under the desert that opens only once you've earned the National Pokedex. It's your one shot at the fossil you passed up at Mirage Tower, and the only spot Ditto turns up.
Desert Underpass is in Hoenn, with Route 114 to the south. In the story it comes after Altering Cave and before Terra Cave.

Desert Underpass Walkthrough
- 1From the west entrance, go north into Desert Underpass, then east along the tunnel to the jutting rocks.
- 2From the jutting rocks, go east to the gap in the rocks.
- 3From the gap in the rocks, go east to the edge of the sand.
- 4From the edge of the sand, go east to the fossil in the cave. Talk to it to take the Claw FossilClaw FossilA fossil of an ancient, seafloor-dwelling Pokemon.At the far end of the cave if the Root Fossil was chosen at the Mirage Tower if you kept the Root, or else take the Root FossilRoot FossilA fossil of an ancient, seafloor-dwelling Pokemon.At the far end of the cave if the Claw Fossil was chosen at the Mirage Tower.

Ditto sits at a generous 50% in this hidden underpass, sparing you a long search for a breeding partner later. Whismur and Loudred patrol the high 30s around it.
