Seismitoad Best Moveset
Free healing from Water moves through AbilityWater Absorb and Water/Ground typing with only Grass as a weakness. Four generations bouncing between the mid and lower tiers. This moveset runs Held ItemLeftovers with NatureBold and Water/Ground moves, filling a defensive role that Swampert and Quagsire compete for.
Water/Ground with Swift Swim in Gen V (Black & White). Stealth Rock setter that swept in Rain. Immune to Electric. A mini-Swampert that fit Rain teams perfectly.

Dropped in Gen VI (X & Y). Rain nerfed to five turns. Without permanent Rain, Swift Swim was inconsistent, and Seismitoad fell back on Stealth Rock utility alone.

Seismitoad Weakness
Grass moves hit Seismitoad for super-effective damage. Grass hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. The upside? Electric-type moves can't touch it at all. It resists 4 types, giving it decent defensive coverage. Water Absorb grants an additional Water immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. With 105 HP and balanced defenses, Seismitoad can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 4x (Critical) | Grass |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fire, Poison, Rock, Steel |

Base Stats
Seismitoad's spread is anchored by HP, with balanced defenses backing it up. Speed is the clear weak point. Worth 3 HP EVs per KO, and the 1.06M XP medium-slow curve keeps leveling painless.
This Pokémon is popular among the elderly, who say the vibrations of its lumps are great for massages.
Seismitoad Guide
Don't let Seismitoad's 509 base stat total fool you. Swift Swim is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier.
Run Swift Swim on Seismitoad. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Seismitoad also gets Poison Touch and Water Absorb, but they don't compare.
Seismitoad fills the balanced role. It's a physical attacker with base 95 Attack. Base 74 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
Run Earthquake, Liquidation, Drain Punch, and Icepunch on Seismitoad. Earthquake is the most common pick at 0% usage. Earthquake provides reliable STAB damage.
Game Availability
Introduced in Black & White, Seismitoad has appeared in 8 games across 6 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
