Mesprit Best Moveset
105 across Attack, Sp. Atk, Defense, and Sp. Def at 80 Speed on Psychic with AbilityLevitate. The moveset hits from either side through balanced mixed offenses. 80 Speed is middling. The flexibility to run physical, special, or support makes teambuilding easier. D-Tier because the jack-of-all-trades profile never excels at anything.
80 across all stats with Levitate in Gen IV (Diamond & Pearl). Stealth Rock, U-turn, and Healing Wish. A utility lake guardian that supported the team without threatening opponents.

Dropped in Gen V (Black & White). 105 Sp. Atk was decent but Uxie did the support job with better bulk, and Azelf did the offense job with better Speed.
Special Revenge Killer Moveset
- U Turn
- Trick
- Psychic
- Thunderbolt
Recommended Teammates
Two gens of decline by Gen VI (X & Y). The middle lake guardian was average at everything and elite at nothing. Jack of all trades, master of none.
Physical Tank Moveset
- Knock Off
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Natural Gift
Recommended Teammates
Three gens of steady decline in Gen VII (Sun & Moon). Healing Wish was still useful but better Pokemon carried the same move with more to offer alongside it.
Special Setup Sweeper Moveset
- Calm Mind
- Ice Beam
- Psyshock
- Shadow Ball
Recommended Teammates
Four gens below the debut in Gen VIII (Sword & Shield). 80 base stats across the board aged poorly as the format's average power level climbed.
Wall Moveset
- Stealth Rock
- Trick Room
- Healing Wish
- Encore
Recommended Teammates
Five gens of decline in Gen IX (Scarlet & Violet). The lake guardian that was always between Uxie's bulk and Azelf's offense, never matching either.
Hazard Setter Moveset
- Ice Beam
- Psychic
- Stealth Rock
- Thunderbolt

Bug, Ghost, and Dark moves hit Mesprit for super-effective damage. Levitate grants an additional Ground immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Mesprit's overall bulk (80/105/105) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.

Known as the Being of Emotion. In legend, this Pokémon was feared, as any who showed disrespect would have their emotions thrown into disarray.
