Emerald New Mauville
An abandoned power plant humming beneath Mauville. Wattson sends you down with the Basement Key to shut off the generator, dodging live Voltorb and Electrode rigged like landmines.
New Mauville is in Hoenn, with Route 110 to the north. In the story it comes after Abandoned Ship and before Route 118.

Doors, not walls, block New Mauville: a grid of blue and red switches opens and closes them, and the wrong order seals off a wing. Thread the sequence to reach the generator at the back.

Entrance

- Walk up to the locked door at the top of the entrance room, use the key, and walk inside; the door stays open from then on.
Inside
- Step on the blue switch just below where you arrive, then walk the south corridor west to a green switch.
- With the green barriers gone, go north to the Escape RopeEscape RopeUse to escape instantly from a cave or a dungeon. near the center of the plant, take it, and stand on the blue switch beneath it.
- The north half is now open; grab the Full HealFull HealHeals all the status problems of one Pokemon. west and south of the generator, then step onto the green switch it covered.
- Pick up the Thunder StoneThunder StoneMakes certain species of Pokemon evolve.East of the generator in the far corner east of the generator.

- To leave, battle the VoltorbVoltorbLevel 30Electrode ball at the west end of the Full Heal room and stand on the blue switch it hid.
- Then battle the Voltorb ball in the middle of the plant, whose green switch opens the path back to the exit.
Thunder StonePokemon Encounters
The generator floors of New Mauville divide almost down the middle between Voltorb and Magnemite, with their evolved Electrode and Magneton slipping in at 1%. A tidy Electric stop if you passed on Electrike out on the routes.
