Flamigo Guide

  • We rate Flamigo C-Tier: a situational pick that fills a niche. At 500 BST, it fits the wallbreaker role. Base 115 Attack stands out.

  • Watch for Raikou (Electric), Walrein (Ice), and Staraptor (Flying) when using Flamigo. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Psychic and Fairy-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.

  • Scrappy lets the Pokémon's normal and fighting moves hit ghost Pokémon. That's the one you want on Flamigo. Costar is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Tangled Feet works too if your team needs something different.

  • Base 90 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Flamigo is a physical attacker with base 115 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a wallbreaker.

  • Run Close Combat, Bravebird, U Turn, and Upperhand on Flamigo. Close Combat is the most common pick at 0% usage. This set covers the wallbreaker role with a mix of damage and utility.
