Dragalge Weakness

Dragalge's Poison/Dragon typing leaves it vulnerable to Ice, Ground, Psychic, and Dragon. With 7 resistances, the defensive profile is strong. Dragalge's special bulk (base 123 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.

Dragalge Guide

  • Adaptability changes the entire equation for Dragalge. The 494 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier.

  • Watch for Cloyster (Ice), Swampert (Ground), and Gardevoir (Psychic) when using Dragalge. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Dragon-type attackers are also a problem.

  • Adaptability is what you want on Dragalge. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Poison Point, Poison Touch) work on paper but Adaptability is what makes Dragalge worth using.

  • Base 44 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Dragalge is a mixed attacker with base 75 Attack and 97 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • Run Draco Meteor, Flip Turn, Sludge Bomb, and Toxic Spikes on Dragalge. Draco Meteor is the most common pick at 0% usage. This set covers the balanced role with a mix of damage and utility.

Game Availability

Dragalge joined the series in X & Y and has been available in 7 titles so far. With 5 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
