Carnivine Best Moveset
Ground immunity through AbilityLevitate for a pure Grass-type is one of the few unique things Carnivine brings. Four generations at the bottom. This moveset runs Held ItemLeftovers with NatureModest and special Grass moves, though the stats and movepool can't compete with any other Grass-type option.
Levitate gave Ground immunity in Gen IV (Diamond & Pearl). 100 Attack and 90 Sp. Atk were decent. 46 Speed made both irrelevant.

Four gens as the forgotten Grass-type in Gen VII (Sun & Moon). Levitate was the one interesting trait. Everything else was mediocre.

Base Stats
Nothing fancy in Carnivine's spread. It leans mixed with Attack out front. And you'll get 2 Attack EVs per KO for it. Follows a slow 1.25M XP grind.
Though this is a plant Pokémon, it has a gluttonous and unruly temperament. Carnivine attacks its prey with its cavernous maw wide open.
Carnivine Guide
Carnivine looks average on paper at 454 BST. But Levitate is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. C-Tier support on our tier list.
Carnivine gets Levitate. But Levitate is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.
Carnivine is a mixed attacker with base 100 Attack and 90 Sp. Atk. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 46 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. Fits the support role.
Run Leech Seed, Synthesis, Infestation, and Stockpile on Carnivine. Leech Seed is the most common pick at 0% usage. This set covers the support role with a mix of damage and utility.
