Genesect Best Moveset
Mixed offenses at 120/120 with 99 Speed. Bug and Steel TermStab fires from either side on fast cooldowns, and 95/95 balanced defenses hold between recharges. The moveset picks physical or special per target. No Mega access but the base stats compete with some Mega forms on raw numbers.
Download boosted the higher offensive stat on switch-in in Gen V (Black & White). Steel/Bug with 120 Attack, 120 Sp. Atk, and U-turn. Banned from standard play.

Genesect Weakness
Fire moves hit Genesect for super-effective damage. Fire hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. The upside? Poison-type moves can't touch it at all. With 8 resistances, the defensive profile is strong. With 71 HP and balanced defenses, Genesect can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.

| 4x (Critical) | Fire |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Normal, Ice, Psychic, Bug, Dragon, Steel, Fairy |

Base Stats
The stat budget goes to damage. Attack and Sp. Atk carry the offense, HP doesn't even come close. A Paleozoic Pokemon on a slow 1.25M XP grind, worth 3 Attack and Sp. Atk and Speed EVs per KO.
This Pokémon existed 300 million years ago. Team Plasma altered it and attached a cannon to its back.
Genesect Guide
At 600 BST, Genesect is built different. We rank it B-Tier. As a Mythical Pokemon, the raw stats back up the reputation. Best used as a wallbreaker.
Download raises the attack stat corresponding to the opponents' weaker defense one stage upon entering battle. That's the one you want on Genesect. It's the only ability Genesect has.
Base 99 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Genesect is a mixed attacker with base 120 Attack and 120 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a wallbreaker.
Run U Turn, Technoblast, Ironhead, and Extreme Speed on Genesect. U Turn is the most common pick at 0% usage. This set covers the wallbreaker role with a mix of damage and utility.
Game Availability
Genesect first appeared in Black & White and has been available in 8 titles. Mythical distribution means event-only access in most games, making it one of the harder Pokemon to collect.
