Sharpedo cannot be caught in this game. It must be traded in from a compatible game where it appears in the wild. On GBA, cross-region trading unlocks post-game after Celio's Sevii Islands Ruby & Sapphire quest. The Switch re-release supports only one-way transfers out to Pokemon HOME. Alternatively, transfer the pre-evolution and level it up to Lv 30.

How to Get Sharpedo in FireRed & LeafGreen

A level 30 Carvanha evolves into Sharpedo. Since Carvanha is Sapphire-exclusive (and Emerald), Ruby saves can't directly supply the chain. A trade from Sapphire or Emerald starts everything.

Sharpedo Weakness

Sharpedo's Water/Dark typing leaves it vulnerable to Electric, Grass, Fighting, and Bug. It shrugs off Psychic-type attacks completely. With 6 resistances, the defensive profile is strong. Sharpedo leans offensive (base 120 Atk) rather than trying to tank its weaknesses.

FRLG Sharpedo Best Moveset

120 Attack and 95 Sp. Atk hit from both sides on a Water/Dark frame. AbilityRough Skin punishes every physical contact hit. Dark is special and Water is special in this format, so the 120 Attack gets MoveEarthquake and physical coverage while MoveSurf and MoveCrunch run through the 95 Sp. Atk. Mixed attacker that punishes contact.
