Winding forest path between Route 2's south and north exits. Side trails branch off the main path through thick grass. Following the leftmost turns gets you through fastest.

Pikachu at 5% is the prize. Electric-types are hard to find this early, so the hunt is worth it. Caterpie and Weedle fill the rest at 40% each and evolve fast into Butterfree and Beedrill.

Pikachu appears at 5% encounter rate, levels 3-5. Expect to run through a lot of Caterpie and Weedle before one shows up. There's no trick to it besides patience. Pikachu is worth grabbing early if you want an Electric-type before Lt. Surge, but Voltorb in the Power Plant later is a decent alternative.
