The Steel sub-typing gives Magneton resistances the original version never had. AbilityMagnet Pull locks Steel-types in, and AbilitySturdy blocks OHKO moves. Magneton Weakness
Type-wise, Magneton takes extra damage from Ground, Fire, and Fighting. Watch out for Ground attacks, those deal 4x damage. Poison moves do nothing thanks to a full immunity. With 12 resistances, the defensive profile is strong. Magneton's physical bulk (base 95 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 4x (Critical) | Ground |
| 2x (Weak) | Fire, Fighting |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Normal, Electric, Grass, Ice, Psychic, Bug, Rock, Ghost, Dragon, Dark |
| 0.25x (Resist) | Flying, Steel |
| 0x (Immune) | Poison |
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move

Magneton Evolutions
Evolved from Magnemite. Magneton is the final form in this two-stage line. No compatible partners for breeding via one egg group. Eggs are average hatch time. HP grew the most through evolution (+25 over Magnemite), and Magneton peaks at 465 total stats. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Magneton is genderless — breed with Ditto to produce Magnemite eggs. Part of the Mineral egg group.
FRLG Magneton Best Moveset
AbilityMagnet Pull traps opposing Steel types on the field, preventing switches. Electric/Steel resists nine types and 120 Sp. Atk fires MoveThunderbolt for devastating Electric TermStab. The moveset turns locking into guaranteed kills against Steel types that can't escape, removing some of the format's most important defensive anchors.

Moves List
Leveling does the heavy lifting. Magneton picks up Zap Cannon and Hyper Beam along the way, building toward a complete offensive set. TMs add Normal coverage, but the foundation's already strong by then.
