Machamp Black 2 & White 2 Guide
In Black 2 & White 2, Machamp works as a wallbreaker with 505 BST behind it. B-Tier on our list: a solid option in Black 2 & White 2 for the right team. Dynamicpunch with Leftovers is the standard set.
Machamp is obtained by trade-evolving Machoke. Catch or evolve a Machoke first, then trade. Trade needs a Game Boy Advance link cable and a second GBA running another Gen 3 game (FireRed, LeafGreen, Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald). Trade Machoke to a friend, then have them trade it back. The 2026 Switch re-release supports the same trade through local wireless on the Pokemon Center 2F Wireless Club, with no cables required.
Guts is the go-to ability for Machamp. It increases Attack to 1.5× with a major status ailment. Its hidden ability Steadfast can work in specific setups. No Guard is the other option. Pick based on what your team needs.
Machamp is a physical attacker with base 130 Attack. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. At base 55 Speed, it won't be moving first often. Fits the wallbreaker role.
Game Availability
Available since Red & Blue, Machamp appears in 21 games spanning 10 generations. Beyond its original form, it gained a Gigantamax form in Generation 8.
