How to Counter Ziggs in LoL Classic
Counter guideAkali, Katarina, and Ahri are listed as Assassins here, a shared label that says little about how their exchanges begin. After 
Shunpo, Katarina takes reduced damage from enemies for a few seconds. The reduced-damage window is Katarina's starting point. Akali and Ahri pull the discussion toward other mechanics.
Playing Akali into Ziggs
Ziggs can hurry Short Fuse, but Twilight Shroud carries the longer listed base cooldown.

Short Fuse starts on a shorter listed cooldown than 
Twilight Shroud. Every Ziggs ability reduces the passive's wait. The two tools do not share a schedule. Use the shroud for one chosen exchange; Short Fuse can become ready again while Twilight Shroud remains on cooldown.
Close contact is fragile against 
Satchel Charge. The blast can knock you away while moving Ziggs aside without hurting him. 
Crescent Slash deals damage from where Akali stands; it does not move her back into position. 
Shadow Dance needs its chosen target within range to retake contact.
Tag Ziggs with 
Mark of the Assassin from a distance. Its added damage and energy return still need your melee attack. 
Hexplosive Minefield triggers when an enemy touches a mine, dealing magic damage and a slow. Walking straight across it can give a proximity mine the contact it needs before you reach Ziggs.

Playing Katarina into Ziggs
Whenever Death Lotus starts, expect Ziggs to leave before it finishes. Sinister Steel needs him closer still.

Bouncing Blade puts a mark on Ziggs, and your next spell or attack consumes it for extra magic damage. Shunpo brings you close enough to do that. Keep the visit brief, because every ability Ziggs presses brings Short Fuse forward, and the bonus damage on his next basic attack lands on you.
Ziggs answers 
Death Lotus by leaving, and that cast never reaches more than three champions to begin with. Satchel Charge knocks him away, does him no damage, and takes him off the three Death Lotus can reach. The daggers then run their two and a half seconds out without him.
Mines from Hexplosive Minefield damage and slow you on contact, and Ziggs lays them where you walk. 
Voracity does nothing without a champion kill or an assist, so failed entries keep your cooldowns long. The speed bonus on 
Sinister Steel needs a champion in the circle, and Satchel Charge takes him out of it.
