The fur on its body naturally repels water. It can stay dry even when it plays in the water.

Marill's Water/Fairy typing leaves it vulnerable to Electric, Grass, and Poison. It shrugs off Dragon-type attacks completely. 6 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that. Thick Fat reduces Fire/Ice damage, further improving the defensive spread.

or evolve from Azurill (Step 1)
  • Get Marill to Azumarill at level 18. At 250 BST, Marill is just the starting point.

  • Level 18 gets you Azumarill. Quick enough that Marill barely slows you down.

  • Marill does the job early-game if you need a Water/Fairy type on your team. Evolve it into Azumarill before the later gyms and it holds up fine through the story.

  • You won't have trouble finding Marill. It's been around since Scarlet & Violet and appears in 17 games total. Latest appearances: Gold & Silver and Crystal.

Marill first appeared in Gold & Silver and has been available in 17 games across 9 generations. Obtainable through catching or hatching as a base form in most titles where it appears.
