On your first visit the Poke Mart clerk waits on the road in from Route 101 to walk you to his shop.
  1. Walk in from Route 101 on the south edge and talk to the clerk standing in your path.
  2. He leads you north to the Mart on your first visit and gives you a Potion at the door.

The west road to Route 102 stays shut on this pass, so your way out of town is north.
  1. Walk north past the town sign and leave Oldale Town into Route 103.
  2. A man sketching footprints blocks the west road until you beat your rival on Route 103 and return to the lab.
