How to Get Abra in Black 2 & White 2
A trade step sits in Abra's 3-stage chain from Abra. The step cards below map each stage with catch locations and evolution methods. Abra shows up in the wild, so the starting catch is the easy part.
Abra Weakness
Abra's Psychic typing leaves it vulnerable to Bug, Ghost, and Dark. Abra's special bulk (base 55 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Bug, Ghost, Dark |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fighting, Psychic |
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)

Abra Evolutions
Abra is the start of a three-stage chain. It evolves into Kadabra first, then eventually reaches Alakazam. For breeding, average hatch time with plenty of partners via one egg group. The evolved forms gain up to 190 total stats over Abra. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Breed Abra easily with 53 breeding partners from the Humanshape egg group. Pass egg moves like Barrier, Encore, Fire Punch and 7 more to offspring.
B2W2 Abra Best Moveset
105 Sp. Atk from a first-stage Pokemon is unusual, but 90 Speed at 25 HP means the moveset fires one Psychic TermStab and dies to whatever responds. AbilityMagic Guard as a hidden ability prevents indirect damage, but direct hits finish Abra instantly. Alakazam two evolutions away solves everything.

Moves List
Breadth over depth defines this movepool. Abra won't stack one type's damage ceiling, but coverage across 10 types means it always has an effective option. Dream Eater and Psychic anchor the STAB core.

Each move's competitive rank in RankedBoost's system. TM, Egg, and Tutor sort by tier by default (best first). On Level-Up, click the Tier header to do the same.
PWR (Power)
Base damage. Numbers shown in a type color include STAB (base × 1.5). Hover any colored number to see the math.
