Sewaddle sits at the start of its evolution line — not yet at full power, but that changes fast. Most trainers push through to Leavanny as fast as possible. Flexible enough to run physical or special sets. Been around since Gen 5.
Sewaddle's spread isn't flashy. Defense leads, Sp. Atk trails, 0 stats clear the bar. Easy to catch and worth 1 Defense EV, on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
Since this Pokémon makes its own clothes out of leaves, it is a popular mascot for fashion designers.
Sewaddle Weakness
FragileSewaddle is weak to Fire, Flying, Ice, Poison, Bug, and Rock-type moves. Watch out for Fire and Flying attacks, those deal 4x damage. It resists 5 types, giving it decent defensive coverage.

Sewaddle is the start of a three-stage chain. It evolves into Swadloon first, then eventually reaches Leavanny. For breeding, quick to hatch with no compatible partners via one egg group. Evolving adds up to 190 stat points total.

Breed Sewaddle easily from the Bug egg group. Pass egg moves like Agility, Air Slash, Baton Pass and 6 more to offspring.

Egg moves make a real difference. Sewaddle gets Agility and Air Slash exclusively through breeding, filling gaps that TMs and level-up can't touch. Normal and Psychic coverage and more rounds out the picture alongside Solar Beam and Bug Buzz.

8 walking encounters at Lv. 2-42 for Sewaddle across White 2 and Black 2. A few locations are version-exclusive, so your copy of the game affects what's available.
Sewaddle isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Swadloon to unlock its full potential. At 310 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.
Sewaddle's biggest threats include Charizard (Fire), Dodrio (Flying), and Lapras (Ice), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Charizard is the most dangerous since Fire moves deal 4x damage. Poison, Bug, and Rock-type attackers are also a problem. With 6 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
Sewaddle evolves into Swadloon at level 20. Sewaddle is the base form in a 3-stage evolutionary line.
Run Chlorophyll on Sewaddle. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Sewaddle also gets Swarm and Overcoat, but they don't compare.
Sewaddle fills the support role. It's a physical attacker with base 53 Attack. Base 42 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go.
