Weezing doesn't stand out in any single area, but it gets the job done for in-game teams. Only weak to Ground, Psychic, and Bug. Been around since Gen 1. Flexible enough to run physical or special sets. It relies on priority moves or Scarf to keep up.
Nothing fancy in Weezing's spread. It leans mixed with Defense out front. And you'll get 2 Defense EVs per KO for it. Follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
Where two kinds of poison gases meet, 2 KOFFINGs can fuse into a WEEZING over many years.
Weezing Weakness
VulnerableType-wise, Weezing takes extra damage from Ground, Psychic, and Bug. Weezing's physical bulk (base 120 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.
- Only 15 types exist — Dark, Steel, and Fairy are absent
- Ghost has no effect on Psychic (a known bug, fixed in Gen II)
- Special stat governs both offense and defense — no Sp.Atk / Sp.Def split
Koffing's chain ends at Weezing (at level 35). Despite 490 base stats, this Poison type doesn't breed. The evolution from Koffing pushed Weezing to 490 total stats. HP saw the largest single gain at +25.
How to Evolve
Normal and Electric coverage keeps opponents guessing about Weezing's real targets. An item provides extra utility while flexible EVs EVs and a nature nature handle the stat profile. An ability ties it together.

Recommended Teammates
Most of Weezing's flexibility comes from TMs. Same-type output runs through Sludge and Smog, but Normal and Fire and the rest of the TM pool push it from predictable to genuinely threatening.

Weezing looks average on paper at 490 BST. But Levitate is why it sees play — build around that and it pulls its weight. C-Tier on our tier list.
Weezing is a mixed attacker — base 90 Attack and 85 Sp. Atk. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. But the speed tells the real story — at base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often.
Weezing appears in 20 games, including Yellow, Red & Blue, and Gold & Silver.
Available since Red & Blue, Weezing appears in 20 games spanning 9 generations. Beyond its original form, it gained a Galarian form in Generation 8.
