Weezing's stats are solid on their own, but Levitate is what pushes it over the line. It gives it a Ground immunity. Only weak to Ground and Psychic. Flexible enough to run physical or special sets. A longtime staple going back to Gen 1.
Nothing fancy in Weezing's spread. It leans mixed with Defense out front. And you'll get 2 Defense EVs per KO for it. Follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
Very rarely, a sudden mutation can result in two small KOFFING twins becoming conjoined as a WEEZING.
Where two kinds of poison gases meet, two KOFFING can fuse into a WEEZING over many years.
Weezing Weakness
AvgType-wise, Weezing takes extra damage from Ground and Psychic. The Poison typing picks up 4 resistances to work with. Levitate grants an additional Ground immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Weezing's physical bulk (base 120 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move
Weezing is what Koffing becomes. Breed it for Koffing eggs (average hatch time). A decent partner pool for breeding via one egg group. Eggs are average hatch time. The evolution from Koffing pushed Weezing to 490 total stats. HP saw the largest single gain at +25.
How to Evolve
Breed with Weezing to get Koffing eggs easily using 22 partners from the Indeterminate egg group. Notable egg moves include Destiny Bond, Pain Split, Psybeam and 3 more.
Normal coverage keeps opponents guessing about Weezing's real targets. Leftovers provides passive recovery each turn while max HP and Defense EVs and Impish nature handle the stat profile. Levitate ties it together.

Breeding's the move. Destiny Bond and Pain Split give Weezing options it can't learn any other way, and Normal and Fire coverage and more already covers a decent range on top of Sludge Bomb and Sludge. The egg moves push it further.

Weezing looks average on paper at 490 BST. But Levitate is why it sees play — build around that and it pulls its weight. C-Tier on our tier list.
Weezing gets Levitate, Neutralizing Gas, and Stench. But Levitate is the one that matters — it's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.
Weezing is a mixed attacker — base 90 Attack and 85 Sp. Atk. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. But the speed tells the real story — at base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often.
