Electric moves don't affect Nidoqueen at all — that's the advantage of Poison/Ground typing. Sheer Force drops secondary effects for a straight power boost. An original Gen 1 pick. Needs some investment to avoid getting outsped.
An unusually even spread gives Nidoqueen flexibility. HP barely edges ahead. But Sp. Atk isn't far off. Tough to catch and follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve. Yields 3 HP EVs.
The body is covered by stiff, needle-like scales. If it becomes excited, the needles bristle outwards.
Its hard scales provide strong protection. It uses its hefty bulk to execute powerful moves.
Nidoqueen Weakness
AvgNidoqueen's Poison/Ground typing leaves it vulnerable to Water, Ice, Ground, and Psychic moves. It shrugs off Electric-type attacks completely. 4 resistances help offset the weaknesses.
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move
Evolve Nidoran♀ (female) using a Moon Stone to get Nidoqueen. At 495 stats, this Poison/Ground type caps the chain without any egg option. Sp.Def grew the most through evolution (+45 over Nidoran F), and Nidoqueen peaks at 495 total stats.
How to Evolve
This build takes hits and hits back. Leftovers provides passive recovery each turn, Poison Point supports the gameplan, and max Attack and Speed EVs mean Nidoqueen doesn't crumble to chip damage. Plus Fighting coverage backing it up.

Breadth over depth defines this movepool. Nidoqueen won't stack one type's damage ceiling, but coverage across 11 types means it always has an effective option. Earthquake and Sludge Bomb anchor the STAB core.

Sheer Force changes the entire equation for Nidoqueen. The 495 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier.
Sheer Force is what you want on Nidoqueen. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Poison Point, Rivalry) work on paper but Sheer Force is what makes Nidoqueen worth using.
Base 76 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Nidoqueen is a physical attacker with base 82 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two.
Nidoqueen appears in 19 games, including Yellow, Red & Blue, and Gold & Silver.
One of the original 151, Nidoqueen has appeared in 19 games — most mainline games. From Red & Blue through the latest titles, it's rarely been left out of a regional Pokedex.
