Weezing doesn't stand out in any single area, but it gets the job done for in-game teams. Only weak to Ground and Psychic. Been around since Gen 1. Flexible enough to run physical or special sets. It relies on good prediction to keep up.
Nothing fancy in Weezing's spread. It leans mixed with Defense out front. And you'll get 2 Defense stat exp per KO for it. Follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
When it inhales poisonous gases from garbage, its body expands, and its insides smell much worse.
Weezing Weakness
AvgType-wise, Weezing takes extra damage from Ground and Psychic. The Poison typing picks up 4 resistances to work with. Weezing's physical bulk (base 120 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move
- Special stat split into Sp.Atk and Sp.Def
Weezing is what Koffing becomes. Breed it for Koffing eggs (average hatch time). A small partner pool for breeding via one egg group. Eggs are average hatch time. The evolution from Koffing pushed Weezing to 490 total stats. HP saw the largest single gain at +25.
How to Evolve
Breed with Weezing to get Koffing eggs easily using 11 partners from the Indeterminate egg group. Notable egg moves include Destiny Bond, Pain Split, Psybeam and 2 more.

Breeding's the move. Destiny Bond and Pain Split give Weezing options it can't learn any other way, and Normal and Fire coverage and more already covers a decent range on top of Sludge Bomb and Sludge. The egg moves push it further.

Weezing brings 490 BST to the table. C-Tier on our list — a situational pick that fills a niche. That 120 base Defense does the heavy lifting.
Weezing is a physical attacker with base 90 Attack. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. But the speed tells the real story — at base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often.
Weezing appears in 20 games, including Yellow, Red & Blue, and Gold & Silver.
Available since Red & Blue, Weezing appears in 20 games spanning 9 generations. Beyond its original form, it gained a Galarian form in Generation 8.
