Gardevoir doesn't stand out in any single area, but it gets the job done for in-game teams. Only weak to Bug, Ghost, and Dark. Been around since Gen 3. It needs some investment to avoid getting outsped. Known as the Embrace Pokemon.

Gardevoir's spread isn't flashy. Sp. Atk leads, Attack trails, 3 stats clear the bar. Tough to catch and worth 3 Sp. Atk EVs, on a slow 1.25M XP grind.

Gardevoir Weakness

Vulnerable

Type-wise, Gardevoir takes extra damage from Bug, Ghost, and Dark. Gardevoir's special bulk (base 115 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.

The egg pool carries weight here. Destiny Bond and Disable aren't available any other way for Gardevoir, and they meaningfully change what it threatens. Stack those on top of Future Sight and Dream Eater for solid options.

Gardevoir can't be caught in FireRed & LeafGreen. Transfer Ralts from Ruby, Emerald, or Sword and evolve through the 3-stage chain to get it. The step cards below map the full chain.

How to Obtain Gardevoir in FireRed & LeafGreen

  1. Ralts
    Step 1Obtain Ralts

    Catch in the wild in:

Then trade to FireRed & LeafGreen to continue the evolution chain.

    Also found in:

  2. Gardevoir
    Step 3Gardevoir
  • Gardevoir has a 518 base stat total and ranks as C-Tier — a situational pick that fills a niche. It works best as a wallbreaker. Base 125 Sp. Atk is where it shines.

  • Gardevoir's biggest threats include Heracross (Bug), Misdreavus (Ghost), and Absol (Dark), all carrying super-effective STAB moves.

  • Kirlia evolves into Gardevoir at level 30. Gardevoir is the final evolution in a 4-stage line starting from Ralts. At 518 BST, it's got solid stats to work with.

  • Synchronize is the go-to ability for Gardevoir. It copies burns, paralysis, and poison received onto the Pokémon that inflicted them. Its hidden ability Telepathy can work in specific setups. Trace is the other option — pick based on what your team needs.

  • Gardevoir fills the wallbreaker role. It's a special attacker with base 125 Sp. Atk. Base 80 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • Gardevoir appears in 17 games, including Ruby & Sapphire, FireRed & LeafGreen, and Emerald.

Gardevoir first appeared in Ruby & Sapphire and has been available in 17 games across 7 generations. Obtainable through wild encounters in most titles where it appears.
