How to get Malignant Hearts

To obtain a Malignant Heart, you must face the Partly Corrupted enemies, a formidable subtype of the Malignant Monsters. Each slain foe offers a chance to drop a Malignant Heart. Capturing this heart, however, requires a ritual with the Cage of Binding - an item you acquire during the Season's Questline (Stand Against The Malignant).

The best place to acquire Malignant Hearts are within the Malignant Tunnels, a new type of dungeon filled with fearsome foes. These terrifying beings, if defeated, drop a more powerful version of the Malignant Heart, which you can then embed into the special Infested sockets of your jewelry, replacing the standard gem.

In the first season, you will encounter 32 distinct Malignant Hearts, each falling into one of four categories and offering unique bonuses. As the threat of Malignant Creatures grows, so does the strength of the Malignant Hearts they carry. depending on the color of heart and the socket color of your jewelry you will be able to place them within gear for powerful effects.
