Seismitoad's spread is anchored by HP, with balanced defenses backing it up. Speed is the clear weak point. Worth 3 HP EVs per KO, and the 1.06M XP medium-slow curve keeps leveling painless.
The vibrating of the bumps all over its body causes earthquake-like tremors. Seismitoad and Croagunk are similar species.
This Pokémon is popular among the elderly, who say the vibrations of its lumps are great for massages.
Grass moves hit Seismitoad for super-effective damage. Grass hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. The upside? Electric-type moves can't touch it at all. It resists 4 types, giving it decent defensive coverage. Water Absorb grants an additional Water immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. With 105 HP and balanced defenses, Seismitoad can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.

Seismitoad is the final form in a three-stage chain from Tympole through Palpitoad. Breeding this form produces Tympole eggs (average hatch time). Evolving from Tympole gave Seismitoad the biggest boost in HP (+55), bringing the total to 509 stats. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Bulk and offense in one package. Seismitoad runs Leftovers for passive recovery each turn with a Adamant nature, so it survives long enough to threaten with Earthquake. Max HP and Attack EVs and double STAB make it hard to safely switch into.

No wild encounters for Seismitoad in Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon. Bring Tympole over from Black, Omega Ruby, or Sword, then level through the stages. Each step in the chain is laid out below.
How to Obtain Seismitoad in Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon
Seismitoad can't be caught in Sun & Moon. Transfer Tympole from Black, Omega Ruby, or Sword and evolve through the 3-stage chain to get it. The step cards below map the full chain.
How to Obtain Seismitoad in Sun & Moon
Don't let Seismitoad's 509 base stat total fool you. Swift Swim is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier.
Run Swift Swim on Seismitoad. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Seismitoad also gets Poison Touch and Water Absorb, but they don't compare.
Seismitoad fills the balanced role. It's a physical attacker with base 95 Attack. Base 74 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
Seismitoad's hidden ability is Water Absorb. Absorbs water moves, healing for 1/4 max HP. Better than the standard options for competitive play.
Introduced in Black & White, Seismitoad has appeared in 8 games across 6 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
