Stats & Training
Attack and Sp. Atk carry most of Abomasnow's stat budget. Speed's the obvious dump stat. Moderately hard to find and yields 2 Attack and Sp. Atk EVs. Follows a slow 1.25M XP grind.
It lives a quiet life on mountains that are perpetually covered in snow. It hides itself by whipping up blizzards.
They appear when the snow flowers bloom. When the petals fall, they retreat to places unknown again.
Abomasnow Weakness
Abomasnow is weak to Fire, Fighting, Poison, Flying, Bug, Rock, and Steel. Watch out for Fire attacks, those deal 4x damage. 4 resistances help offset the weaknesses.

TMs carry this one. Abomasnow learns Leaf Storm and Wood Hammer naturally for STAB, but the offensive range comes almost entirely from technical machines. Fighting and Normal and beyond give it real matchup play.

STAB options run deep here. Abomasnow doesn't have to settle for one Grass and Ice attack when there's a whole lineup. Wood Hammer and Blizzard are the headliners, with coverage across 8 types backing them up.
Egg moves make a real difference. Abomasnow gets Double-Edge and Growth exclusively through breeding, filling gaps that TMs and level-up can't touch. Coverage across 8 types rounds out the picture alongside Wood Hammer and Solar Beam.

Abomasnow Guide
Snow Warning changes the entire equation for Abomasnow. The 494 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked B-Tier.
Abomasnow can Mega Evolve into Mega Abomasnow. That's 594 BST, up from 494. The stat redistribution often changes its best role. Mega Stone required, one per battle.
Abomasnow's biggest threats include Charizard (Fire), Machamp (Fighting), and Nidoking (Poison), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Charizard is the most dangerous since Fire moves deal 4x damage. Flying, Bug, Rock, and Steel-type attackers are also a problem. With 7 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
Snow Warning is what you want on Abomasnow. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Soundproof) work on paper but Snow Warning is what makes Abomasnow worth using.
At base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Abomasnow is a special attacker with base 92 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two.
Game Availability
