Abomasnow Guide
In Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, Snow Warning changes the entire equation for Abomasnow. The 494 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier. Wood Hammer with Leftovers is the standard set.
Mega Evolution isn't available in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, but Abomasnow does have a Mega form in Gen 6-7 games (X/Y, ORAS, Sun/Moon). Mega Abomasnow hits 594 BST.
In Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, Abomasnow's biggest threats include Charizard (Fire), Machamp (Fighting), and Nidoking (Poison), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Charizard is the most dangerous since Fire moves deal 4x damage. Flying, Bug, Rock, and Steel-type attackers are also a problem. With 7 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
Snow Warning is what you want on Abomasnow. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Soundproof) work on paper but Snow Warning is what makes Abomasnow worth using.
At base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Abomasnow is a mixed attacker with base 92 Attack and 92 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two.
