Stats & Training
Attack and Sp. Atk carry most of Abomasnow's stat budget. Speed's the obvious dump stat. Moderately hard to find and yields 2 Attack and Sp. Atk EVs. Follows a slow 1.25M XP grind.

HeartGold & SoulSilver Abomasnow Best Moveset
Abomasnow doesn't rely on pure speed. Leftovers gives it passive recovery each turn to stay healthy, and Adamant nature still pushes offense. Blizzard and the remaining moves keep the pressure on while max HP and Attack EVs balance power and survivability.

Abomasnow Guide
In HeartGold & SoulSilver, Snow Warning changes the entire equation for Abomasnow. The 494 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier. Ice Shard with Leftovers is the standard set.
Mega Evolution isn't available in HeartGold & SoulSilver, but Abomasnow does have a Mega form in Gen 6-7 games (X/Y, ORAS, Sun/Moon). Mega Abomasnow hits 594 BST.
In HeartGold & SoulSilver, Abomasnow's biggest threats include Charizard (Fire), Machamp (Fighting), and Nidoking (Poison), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Charizard is the most dangerous since Fire moves deal 4x damage. Flying, Bug, Rock, and Steel-type attackers are also a problem. With 7 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
Snow Warning is what you want on Abomasnow. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Soundproof) work on paper but Snow Warning is what makes Abomasnow worth using.
At base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Abomasnow is a mixed attacker with base 92 Attack and 92 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two.
Game Availability
