Stats & Training
Defense leads and Sp. Atk gets almost nothing. That's Gliscor's stat line in a nutshell. 3 stats sit in respectable range, but the spread is brutal. Tough to catch and yields 2 Defense EVs.
Its flight is soundless. It uses its lengthy tail to carry off its prey... Then its elongated fangs do the rest.

Gliscor Weakness
Gliscor is weak to Ice and Water. Watch out for Ice attacks, those deal 4x damage. On the flip side, it's immune to Electric and Ground-type moves entirely. Gliscor's physical bulk (base 125 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 4x (Critical) | Ice |
| 2x (Weak) | Water |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fighting, Poison, Bug |
| 0x (Immune) | Electric, Ground |
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)
In HeartGold & SoulSilver, Metagross's Explosion hits Gliscor for 72-84%. Tyranitar's Stone Edge hits Gliscor for 39-46%.

Gliscor Guide
In HeartGold & SoulSilver, Poison Heal changes the entire equation for Gliscor. The 510 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked B-Tier as a support. Earthquake with Leftovers is the standard set.
Poison Heal is what you want on Gliscor. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Hyper Cutter, Sand Veil) work on paper but Poison Heal is what makes Gliscor worth using.
Base 95 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Gliscor is a physical attacker with base 95 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a support.
For HeartGold & SoulSilver, the core moveset is Earthquake, Roost, Taunt, and Ice Fang. Earthquake leads at 25% usage. Earthquake provides reliable STAB damage.
Game Availability
Obtainable through an item-based evolution, Gliscor appears in 12 titles across 7 generations since Diamond & Pearl. The evolution method adds a barrier that wild-catchable Pokemon don't have.
