Gliscor Weakness

Gliscor is weak to Ice and Water. Watch out for Ice attacks, those deal 4x damage. On the flip side, it's immune to Electric and Ground-type moves entirely. Gliscor's physical bulk (base 125 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

The TM pool is where it gets interesting. Coverage across 10 types means almost nothing walls Gliscor cleanly, with Earthquake and Dig anchoring the STAB side. Matchup flexibility isn't a problem.

How to Get Gliscor in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

Gliscor doesn't appear wild. Catch Gligar instead, it shows up at solid rates. Evolve it through a special method to get Gliscor. The 2-stage line is mapped in the step cards below.

How to Obtain Gliscor in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

The path to Gliscor starts with Gligar at Lv. 16-63 via walking encounters. 1 catchable stage total, with locations listed for each one below.

Gliscor Guide

  • In Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, Poison Heal changes the entire equation for Gliscor. The 510 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked B-Tier as a support. Earthquake with Toxic Orb is the standard set.

  • In Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, Gliscor's biggest threats include Lapras (Ice) and Gyarados (Water), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Lapras is the most dangerous since Ice moves deal 4x damage. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • Poison Heal is what you want on Gliscor. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Hyper Cutter, Sand Veil) work on paper but Poison Heal is what makes Gliscor worth using.

  • Base 95 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Gliscor is a physical attacker with base 95 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a support.

  • In Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, Poison Heal is the hidden ability. It heals for 1/8 max HP after each turn when poisoned in place of damage. Worth hunting for if you want Gliscor to compete at a higher level.

Game Availability

Obtainable through an item-based evolution, Gliscor appears in 12 titles across 7 generations since Diamond & Pearl. The evolution method adds a barrier that wild-catchable Pokemon don't have.
