Shaymin Sun & Moon Guide
In Sun & Moon, Shaymin is a Mythical Pokemon rated B-Tier. At 600 BST, it hits hard. It excels as a sweeper. Seedflare with Life Orb is the standard set.
In Sun & Moon, Shaymin's biggest threats include Lapras (Ice), Charizard (Fire), and Nidoking (Poison), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Lapras is the most dangerous since Ice moves deal 4x damage. Flying and Rock-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
Serene Grace is the go-to ability for Shaymin. It doubles the chance of moves' extra effects occurring. It's Shaymin's only ability.
In Sun & Moon, Shaymin fills the sweeper role. It's a special attacker with base 120 Sp. Atk. Base 127 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
For Sun & Moon, the core moveset is Seedflare, Earthpower, Air Slash, and Rest. Seedflare leads at 0% usage. This set covers the sweeper role with a mix of damage and utility.
Game Availability
As a Mythical Pokemon, Shaymin has limited availability — 12 games since its debut in Diamond & Pearl. Typically obtained through special events or in-game quests rather than standard encounters.
