Torracat is technically a pre-evolution of Incineroar, but it holds its own in formats where Eviolite is allowed. Intimidate lowers the opponent's Attack on switch-in, adding extra value. One of the newer additions from Gen 7. It sits at a decent but contested Speed tier.

Torracat's built around mixed offense. Speed leads the charge, Defense pays for it. Tough to catch, worth 2 Speed EVs. Follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.

Eviolite makes Torracat bulkier than you'd expect from something that still evolves. HP-heavy investment EVs with Modest nature handle the stat profile. Utility options keeps it from being passive.

Breeding's the move. Body Slam and Crunch give Torracat options it can't learn any other way, and coverage across 7 types already covers a decent range on top of Overheat and Flare Blitz. The egg moves push it further.

Torracat doesn't appear wild. Catch Litten instead, it shows up at moderate rates. Evolve it at level 17 to get Torracat. The 2-stage line is mapped in the step cards below.

How to Obtain Torracat in Sun & Moon

  2. Torracat
    Step 2Torracat
  • Torracat isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Incineroar to unlock its full potential. At 420 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.

  • Torracat's biggest threats include Starmie (Water), Rhydon (Ground), and Tyranitar (Rock), all carrying super-effective STAB moves.

  • Litten evolves into Torracat at level 17. Torracat evolves into Incineroar at level 34. Torracat is a middle-stage evolution in the Litten line.

  • Run Intimidate on Torracat. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Torracat also gets Blaze, but they don't compare.

  • Torracat fills the pivot role. It's leaning toward the physical side (base 85 Attack). Base 90 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many. And it's fragile — can't afford to take many hits.

  • Torracat can be found in Scarlet & Violet, Sword & Shield, Sun & Moon, and Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon.

Introduced in Sun & Moon, Torracat has appeared in 4 games across 3 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
