Torracat is technically a pre-evolution of Incineroar, but it holds its own in formats where Eviolite is allowed. Intimidate lowers the opponent's Attack on switch-in, adding extra value. One of the newer additions from Gen 7. It sits at a decent but contested Speed tier.
Torracat's built around mixed offense. Speed leads the charge, Defense pays for it. Tough to catch, worth 2 Speed EVs. Follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
It can act spoiled if it grows close to its Trainer. A powerful Pokémon, its sharp claws can leave its Trainer’s whole body covered in scratches.
When its mane is standing on end, you can tell it’s feeling good. When it isn’t feeling well, its fur will lie down flat.
Torracat Weakness
AvgType-wise, Torracat takes extra damage from Water, Ground, and Rock. 6 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that.
Torracat is the middle stage between Litten and Incineroar. It's a three-stage line with one more evolution to go. For breeding, quick to hatch with no compatible partners via one egg group. HP has grown the most so far (+20), but there's still another 110 stats to gain in the final evolution.
How to Evolve
Breed with Torracat to get Litten eggs from the Ground egg group. Notable egg moves include Body Slam, Crunch, Fake Out and 4 more.
Eviolite makes Torracat bulkier than you'd expect from something that still evolves. HP-heavy investment EVs with Modest nature handle the stat profile. Utility options keeps it from being passive.

Breeding's the move. Body Slam and Crunch give Torracat options it can't learn any other way, and coverage across 7 types already covers a decent range on top of Overheat and Flare Blitz. The egg moves push it further.

Can't catch Torracat directly. Start with Litten at moderate rates from the locations below, then evolve at level 17. The 2-stage line from Litten to Torracat is where the leveling time goes.

Torracat isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Incineroar to unlock its full potential. At 420 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.
Litten evolves into Torracat at level 17. Torracat evolves into Incineroar at level 34. Torracat is a middle-stage evolution in the Litten line.
Run Intimidate on Torracat. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Torracat also gets Blaze, but they don't compare.
Torracat fills the balanced role. It's a mixed attacker — base 85 Attack and 80 Sp. Atk. Base 90 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many. And it's fragile — can't afford to take many hits.
Torracat can be found in Scarlet & Violet, Sword & Shield, Sun & Moon, and Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon.
Introduced in Sun & Moon, Torracat has appeared in 4 games across 3 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
