Stats & Training
Torracat's built around mixed offense. Speed leads the charge, Defense pays for it. Tough to catch, worth 2 Speed EVs. Follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
In the midst of battle, the fire pouch on Torracat’s neck rings like a bell and produces stronger flames than usual.
When facing a powerful enemy, Torracat’s fighting spirit gets pumped up, and its fire bell blazes hotter.
Torracat Weakness
Type-wise, Torracat takes extra damage from Water, Ground, and Rock. 6 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Water, Ground, Rock |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fire, Grass, Ice, Bug, Steel, Fairy |
In Sword & Shield, Excadrill can KO Torracat with Earthquake (118-139%). Slowking's Scald hits Torracat for 65-77%. Nihilego's Power Gem also KOs at 92-109%.

How to Get Torracat in Sword & Shield
Torracat Guide
In Sword & Shield, Torracat isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Incineroar to unlock its full potential. At 420 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.
In Sword & Shield, Litten evolves into Torracat at level 17. Torracat evolves into Incineroar at level 34. Torracat is a middle-stage evolution in the Litten line.
In Sword & Shield, Run Intimidate on Torracat. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Torracat also gets Blaze, but they don't compare.
In Sword & Shield, Intimidate is the hidden ability. It lowers opponents' Attack one stage upon entering battle. Worth hunting for if you want Torracat to compete at a higher level.
Game Availability
Introduced in Sun & Moon, Torracat has appeared in 4 games across 4 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
