Farfetch'd Guide

  • At 377 BST, Farfetch'd is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Not competitive in its current form.

  • In Sword & Shield, watch for Raikou (Electric), Lapras (Ice), and Aerodactyl (Flying) when using Farfetch'd. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Psychic and Fairy-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.

  • Steadfast raises Speed one stage upon flinching. That's the one you want on Farfetch'd. Scrappy is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses.

  • Farfetch'd is a physical attacker with base 95 Attack. Fragile, can't afford to take many hits, too. Speed tells the real story. At base 55 Speed, it won't be moving first often.

  • In Sword & Shield, Farfetch'd at 377 BST is a stepping stone. Evolve it when you can for a real stat jump.

Game Availability

Available since Red & Blue, Farfetchd appears in 20 games spanning 10 generations. Beyond its original form, it gained a Galarian form in Generation 8.
