Stats & Training
You won't find a real weakness in Farfetch'd's stat line. It's well-rounded for the Wild Duck Pokemon, and what it does with that depends on moveset and items. Yields 1 Attack stat exp, on a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
Farfetch'd Weakness
Farfetch'd's Normal/Flying typing leaves it vulnerable to Electric, Ice, and Rock. It shrugs off Ground and Ghost-type attacks completely.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Electric, Ice, Rock |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Grass, Bug |
| 0x (Immune) | Ground, Ghost |
- Only 15 types exist — Dark, Steel, and Fairy are absent
- Ghost has no effect on Psychic (a known bug, fixed in Gen II)
- Special stat governs both offense and defense — no Sp.Atk / Sp.Def split
In Red & Blue, Articuno can KO Farfetch'd with Blizzard (144-170%). Golem threatens a KO with Explosion (138-162%). Electrode's Thunderbolt also KOs at 103-121%.

The level-up pool is slim, so TMs matter here. Farfetch'd's limited coverage all comes from technical machines, built on top of Skull Bash and Double-Edge for same-type damage. Double-Edge and Fly are the payoff moves.

Farfetch'd Guide
At 352 BST, Farfetch'd is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Not competitive in its current form.
In Red & Blue, watch for Raikou (Electric), Lapras (Ice), and Aerodactyl (Rock) when using Farfetch'd. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB.
Farfetch'd is a physical attacker with base 65 Attack. Fragile, can't afford to take many hits, too. Speed tells the real story. At base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often.
In Red & Blue, Farfetch'd at 352 BST is a stepping stone. Evolve it when you can for a real stat jump.
In Red & Blue, run Swords Dance, Slash, Agility, and Substitute on Farfetch'd. Swords Dance is the most common pick at 25% usage. Slash provides reliable STAB damage. Agility lets it set up before sweeping.
