Ground and Ghost moves don't affect Toucannon at all — that's the advantage of Normal/Flying typing. Sheer Force drops secondary effects for a straight power boost. Known as the Cannon Pokemon. The stat spread favors raw physical power.

Attack and HP carry most of Toucannon's stat budget. Speed's the obvious dump stat. Tough to catch and yields 3 Attack EVs. Follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.

When it battles, its beak heats up. The temperature can easily exceed 212 degrees Fahrenheit, causing severe burns when it hits.

Within its beak, its internal gas ignites, explosively launching seeds with enough power to pulverize boulders.

Toucannon Weakness

Good

Electric, Ice, and Rock-type moves hit Toucannon for super-effective damage. The upside? Ground and Ghost-type moves can't touch it at all. With 80 HP and balanced defenses, Toucannon can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.

End of the line. Toucannon caps a three-stage chain that started at Pikipek. Breeding produces the base form, and eggs are quick to hatch. HP grew the most through evolution (+45 over Pikipek), and Toucannon peaks at 485 total stats.

  3. Toucannon
    Step 3Toucannon
  • Sheer Force changes the entire equation for Toucannon. The 485 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as a wallbreaker.

  • Watch for Raikou (Electric), Kyurem (Ice), and Rhyperior (Rock) when using Toucannon. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB.

  • Trumbeak evolves into Toucannon at level 28. Toucannon is the final evolution in a 3-stage line starting from Pikipek. At 485 BST, it's got solid stats to work with.

  • Sheer Force is what you want on Toucannon. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Keen Eye, Skill Link) work on paper but Sheer Force is what makes Toucannon worth using.

  • At base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Toucannon is leaning toward the physical side (base 120 Attack). Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a wallbreaker.

  • Toucannon can be found in Scarlet & Violet, Sun & Moon, and Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon.

Toucannon joined the series in Sun & Moon and has been available in 3 titles so far. With 3 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
