145 base Sp. Atk is no joke, but Chandelure can't afford to take a hit back. And it's not fast enough to guarantee moving first, which makes it fragile in practice. Known as the Luring Pokemon.
Chandelure's all-in on Sp. Atk at the expense of Attack. The special lean is obvious from the bars. Yields 3 Sp. Atk EVs and follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
This Pokémon haunts dilapidated mansions. It sways its arms to hypnotize opponents with the ominous dancing of its flames.
In homes illuminated by Chandelure instead of lights, funerals were a constant occurrence— or so it’s said.
Chandelure Weakness
GoodWater, Ground, Rock, Ghost, and Dark-type moves hit Chandelure for super-effective damage. The upside? Normal and Fighting-type moves can't touch it at all. 7 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that. Flash Fire grants an additional Fire immunity, reshaping the matchup chart.
You get Chandelure from Litwick using a Dusk Stone. It's one of 2 possible evolutions in this branching family, each requiring its own method. Breed through Litwick to get eggs. Stat-wise, Chandelure comes out 150 points ahead of Lampent, mostly thanks to a bigger Sp.Atk gain.
How to Evolve
Breed with Chandelure to get Litwick eggs easily from the Indeterminate egg group. Notable egg moves include Acid, Acid Armor, Captivate and 5 more.
Chandelure runs Calm Mind to boost before sweeping. Flame Body and Timid nature shape the build, with max Sp. Atk and Speed EVs to capitalize after one turn of setup, plus utility options to back it up.

Don't skip the egg moves. Chandelure picks up Acid and Acid Armor only through breeding, and both fill gaps the natural movepool can't. STAB runs through Overheat and Fire Blast while Poison and Dark coverage and more adds range.

Don't let Chandelure's 520 base stat total fool you. Flash Fire is what makes it tick — it punches way above its weight class. We rate it A-Tier as a cannon.
Watch for Starmie (Water), Excadrill (Ground), and Aerodactyl (Rock) when using Chandelure. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Ghost and Dark-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
Run Flash Fire on Chandelure. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Chandelure also gets Flame Body and Infiltrator, but they don't compare.
Chandelure fills the cannon role. It's a special attacker with base 145 Sp. Atk. Base 80 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
Chandelure appears in 9 games, including Black & White, Black 2 & White 2, and X & Y.
Introduced in Black & White, Chandelure has appeared in 9 games across 5 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
