SM Sceptile Best Moveset
Mega Sceptile adds Dragon typing with AbilityLightning Rod absorbing Electric for a Sp. Atk boost. 145 Sp. Atk at 145 Speed on the Mega fires Grass/Dragon TermStab before nearly everything. Base form AbilityUnburden doubles Speed after item use. The moveset earns C-tier through Mega Speed and offensive coverage limited by Ice 4x weakness on the Mega form.

Moves List
The level-up pool tells the story here. Sceptile learns Leaf Storm and Leaf Blade naturally, plus enough variety that TMs feel like bonuses. Coverage across 7 types extends the reach beyond that.

Sceptile Sun & Moon Guide
In the Sun & Moon meta, Sceptile already has 630 BST going for it, and Lightning Rod pushes the competitive value even higher. B-Tier sweeper on our tier list. Leafblade with Focus Sash is the standard set.
In Sun & Moon, yes. Mega Sceptile is the evolved form, sitting at 730 BST. Big power spike over base Sceptile (630). Equip the Mega Stone and it transforms in battle.
In Sun & Moon, Sceptile's biggest threats include Walrein (Ice), Crobat (Poison), and Dodrio (Flying), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Walrein is the most dangerous since Ice moves deal 4x damage. Bug, Dragon, and Fairy-type attackers are also a problem. With 6 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
Sceptile gets Lightning Rod. But Lightning Rod is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that. With base 145 Speed, Lightning Rod gives Sceptile an edge before opponents can react.
Sceptile is a mixed attacker with base 110 Attack and 145 Sp. Atk. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 145 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. Fits the sweeper role.
