Lost CaveFireRed&LeafGreen
"A maze cave on Five Island where every wrong turn loops you back to the entrance. Navigate correctly to find Selphy, a lost NPC who rewards you for the rescue."
LOST CAVE MAP
Fourteen identical-looking rooms that loop back to the start if you pick the wrong exit. The correct path follows a fixed door sequence. Wrong doors send you in circles.
Pokemon Encounters
Only place in FRLG to catch Murkrow, and it's just 5% in the grass. Haunter at 30% dominates the encounters with Gastly and Golbat filling the rest. Mostly Ghost and Dark types, levels 15 to 52.

Lost Cave Guide
The cave loops if you pick the wrong exit. To reach the end, go through the doors in this order: right, up, down, down, right, left, down, right, up. Each wrong choice sends you back to the start. It's 14 rooms total but only 9 correct turns. Bring Repels to cut down on encounters while you figure out the path.
Lady Selphy waits at the final room. After you find her, she returns to Resort Gorgeous and starts requesting Pokemon for cash rewards. You can also find Murkrow in Lost Cave at 5% encounter rate on every floor, which is one of the few places to catch it in the game.
Depends on what you're after. Repels block encounters below your lead Pokemon's level, so a level 20 lead in Rock Tunnel filters out the common level 15-16 Zubat while still triggering rarer spawns. If you're grinding, skip them. If you're just passing through, they save time and healing items.
Only Rock Tunnel is completely dark without Flash. Every other cave in FRLG is fully lit by default. Flash itself comes from Oak's aide on Route 2, and you only need 10 Pokedex entries to claim it.
Escape Rope warps you to the last entrance you used and costs 550 at most Poke Marts. The move Dig does the same thing for free if a Pokemon on your team knows it. Both work in any cave or dungeon in the game.
Islands One through Three unlock after you beat Blaine on Cinnabar Island. Bill takes you there as part of the story. Islands Four through Seven require beating the Elite Four first, then completing Celio's Ruby and Sapphire quest on One Island to get the Rainbow Pass.
You can physically reach all seven islands without it, but evolved Johto Pokemon only show up in the wild after you get the National Dex. That means 60 or more Pokedex entries plus completing Celio's quest. If you're only seeing Kanto species, that's why.
