Lanturn Guide

  • In Gold & Silver, Lanturn has a 460 base stat total and ranks as C-Tier: a niche pick in Gold & Silver's meta. It works best as a support. Confuseray with Leftovers is the standard set.

  • In Gold & Silver, watch for Exeggutor (Grass) and Golem (Ground) when using Lanturn. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • In Gold & Silver, Lanturn fills the support role. It's a special attacker with base 76 Sp. Atk. At base 67 Speed, it won't be moving first often. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • In Gold & Silver, run Confuseray, Thunder Wave, Thunderbolt, and Surf on Lanturn. Confuseray is the most common pick at 20% usage. Thunderbolt provides reliable STAB damage.

  • For Gold & Silver, Lanturn has answers, but so do you. Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Grass and Ground-type attackers hit hardest.

Game Availability
