ORAS Avalugg Best Moveset
184 Defense absorbs physical attacks at one of the highest levels available. 117 Attack fires Ice TermStab physically. But Ice typing carries four common weaknesses including Fighting and Steel. The moveset absorbs physical hits but the typing undermines the defensive profile.

Moves List
Don't skip the egg moves. Avalugg picks up Barrier and Mirror Coat only through breeding, and both fill gaps the natural movepool can't. STAB runs through Blizzard and Ice Beam while coverage across 8 types adds range.

Its ice-covered body is as hard as steel. Its cumbersome frame crushes anything that stands in its way.
The way several Bergmite huddle on its back makes it look like an aircraft carrier made of ice.
Avalugg Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Guide
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Avalugg works as a wall with 514 BST behind it. B-Tier on our list: a solid option in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire for the right team. Avalanche with Rocky Helmet is the standard set.
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, watch for Infernape (Fire), Conkeldurr (Fighting), and Golem (Rock) when using Avalugg. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Steel-type attackers are also a problem. At base 28 Speed, Avalugg won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
Own Tempo prevents confusion. That's the one you want on Avalugg. Sturdy is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Ice Body works too if your team needs something different.
Avalugg is a physical attacker with base 117 Attack. Tanky enough to absorb a few hits, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 28 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. Fits the wall role.
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, run Avalanche, Rapid Spin, Recover, and Toxic on Avalugg. Avalanche is the most common pick at 0% usage. Avalanche provides reliable STAB damage.
