Map LocationsOmega Ruby&Alpha Sapphire
"The DexNav search trail and Soaring legend hunts define Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire's twist on Hoenn. Mirage Spots surface legendaries from earlier generations after the credits, with Soaring Latios and Latias zones unlocked by completing the story."
ORAS MAP
ORAS swaps Ruby and Sapphire's surface tile graphics for full 3D models, with the route grid kept identical so the marker positions match between the games. Granite Cave on Dewford Island stacks three encounter floors, with the lowest only reachable after Steven's early-game errand.
OMEGA RUBY & ALPHA SAPPHIRE LOCATIONS
Walk Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire's Hoenn from Littleroot Town in story order, or filter by encounter method or type to find specific spots. Sea Mauville off the southern Hoenn coast houses a sunken-ship dungeon added to the remakes, with abandoned trainer documents that flesh out Hoenn's lore.

SPECIAL ENCOUNTERS
Special encounters are the one-time, fixed-location Pokemon you won't catch in random wild grass. Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire has 9 total: 3 Legendary (story-locked, once per save) and 6 Static (gift Pokemon and route roadblocks).
A bottom-screen radar that shows silhouettes of Pokemon hiding in tall grass. Sneak up on rustling patches to find Pokemon with egg moves, hidden abilities, or higher levels than normal encounters. The more you search for a species, the better finds the DexNav produces. It also tracks which species you've caught per route.
After a story event, you can fly on Mega Latios or Latias freely over Hoenn. While soaring you can spot Mirage Spots: floating islands, caves, and forests that appear on a daily rotation. Each mirage location has unique legendaries or species not found anywhere else in ORAS. They cycle through options so check back daily.
More species per route, DexNav sneaking for hidden abilities, horde encounters in most grass patches, and Rock Smash working like Emerald (with Shuckle added). Safari Zone is gone entirely. Its species moved to other routes or the DexNav. The overall Hoenn Dex is much larger with Mega Evolutions bringing back old favorites.
Between Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, nearly every non-event legendary from Gens 1-6 is available via Mirage Spots and story encounters. The Soaring legendary hunt requires specific conditions (having certain Pokemon in your party, time of day, or beating the Delta Episode). Check the legendary encounter data per location for exact requirements.
Victory Road trainers are in the mid-40s. For faster grinding, use the DexNav on high-level routes like Route 128-134 (water routes with level 30-35 Pokemon and trainers from 40+). The most efficient method is rebattling trainers with the AreaNav rematch system. Marked trainers on the map are ready for stronger rematches.
Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire has 65 locations with wild Pokemon encounters, featuring 254 unique Pokemon species. The location with the most Pokemon variety is Mirage Spots with 45 unique species.
Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire has 3 legendary encounters: Heatran (Lv. 50 at Scorched Slab), Rayquaza (Lv. 70 at Sky Pillar), Deoxys (Lv. 80 at Sky Pillar).
The top fishing locations in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire by Pokemon variety are: Victory Road (6 species), Route 128 (5 species), Route 133 (5 species). These locations offer the widest selection of water-type Pokemon through various rod types (Old Rod, Good Rod, Super Rod).
