Umbreon Weakness
Fighting and Bug moves hit Umbreon for super-effective damage. The upside? Psychic-type moves can't touch it at all. Umbreon's overall bulk (95/110/130) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Fighting, Bug |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Ghost, Dark |
| 0x (Immune) | Psychic |
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)

Umbreon Evolutions
You get Umbreon from Eevee by leveling up. It's one of 7 possible evolutions in this branching family, each requiring its own method. Breed through Eevee to get eggs. Both Umbreon and Vaporeon hit 525 total stats from Eevee. The difference is how those stats are split. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Breed with Umbreon to get Eevee eggs (with patience) using 181 partners from the Ground egg group. Notable egg moves include Charm, Covet, Curse and 10 more.
B2W2 Umbreon Best Moveset
95 HP with 110/130 defenses absorbs attacks from both sides that would break most Pokemon. Dark typing handles Psychic and Ghost threats, and AbilitySynchronize punishes status by reflecting it back. The moveset outlasts opponents through sheer bulk and recovery. Opponents need a Fighting type to break through.

Umbreon best EVs are HP and Sp. Def

Moves List
Without breeding, Umbreon misses out on Charm and Covet. That's 13 egg moves adding depth that the base kit lacks. STAB comes from Foul Play and Dark Pulse, with Normal and Ground coverage and more rounding things out.

Umbreon Black 2 & White 2 Guide
In Black 2 & White 2, Umbreon works as a wall with 525 BST behind it. B-Tier on our list: a solid option in Black 2 & White 2 for the right team. Foulplay with Leftovers is the standard set.
In Black 2 & White 2, watch for Hitmonlee (Fighting) and Heracross (Bug) when using Umbreon. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about. Umbreon has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.
Synchronize copies burns, paralysis, and poison received onto the Pokémon that inflicted them. That's the one you want on Umbreon. Inner Focus is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses.
Umbreon is a physical attacker with base 65 Attack. Tanky enough to absorb a few hits, too. Speed tells the real story. At base 65 Speed, it won't be moving first often. Fits the wall role.
In Black 2 & White 2, run Foulplay, Wish, Heal Bell, and Protect on Umbreon. Foulplay is the most common pick at 0% usage. This set covers the wall role with a mix of damage and utility.
Game Availability
