Stats & Training

Umbreon's built to absorb hits, not race for knockouts. Special bulk with Sp. Def doing the heavy lifting. And the medium-fast 1M XP curve means it won't take forever to bring up, worth 2 Sp. Def EVs.

Legends: Arceus

Umbreon Weakness

Fighting, Bug, and Fairy moves hit Umbreon for super-effective damage. The upside? Psychic-type moves can't touch it at all. Umbreon's overall bulk (95/110/130) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.

Legends: Arceus Umbreon Best Moveset

HP-heavy investment EVs and Impish nature turn Umbreon into a wall that doesn't fold easily. Leftovers brings passive recovery each turn for the long game, and Wish handles sustain. Synchronize fills in the gaps.

Best Build

Legends: Arceus uses different battle mechanics.

Moves

The offense anchors on Dark Pulse and Snarl, with Normal and Steel coverage and more adding reach. It's a workable movepool for Umbreon that handles most situations. Double-Edge and Giga Impact give it enough punch where it matters.

Umbreon Guide

  • In Legends: Arceus, Umbreon works as a wall with 525 BST behind it. C-Tier on our list: a niche pick in Legends: Arceus's meta. Wish with Leftovers is the standard set.

  • In Legends: Arceus, watch for Hitmonlee (Fighting), Heracross (Bug), and Gardevoir (Fairy) when using Umbreon. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Umbreon has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.

  • Synchronize copies burns, paralysis, and poison received onto the Pokémon that inflicted them. That's the one you want on Umbreon. Inner Focus is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses.

  • Umbreon is leaning toward the physical side (base 65 Attack). Tanky enough to absorb a few hits, too. Speed tells the real story. At base 65 Speed, it won't be moving first often. Fits the wall role.

  • In Legends: Arceus, run Wish, Foulplay, Toxic, and Heal Bell on Umbreon. Wish is the most common pick at 24% usage. This set covers the wall role with a mix of damage and utility.

Game Availability

Debuting in Gold & Silver, Umbreon appears in 19 games across 9 generations. A reliable presence in most mainline games, typically found through wild encounters.
