Jolteon Weakness
Jolteon's Electric typing leaves it vulnerable to Ground. Its Electric typing keeps the defensive matchups simple. Volt Absorb grants an additional Electric immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Jolteon's special bulk (base 95 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Ground |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Electric, Flying, Steel |
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)

How to Evolve
Breeding

B2W2 Jolteon Best Moveset
130 Speed fires Electric TermStab before everything except the fastest priority moves, and 110 Sp. Atk hits hard from that speed tier. The moveset answers Water and Flying types instantly. AbilityVolt Absorb heals from Electric attacks, and opponents need a Ground type to answer it.

Moves List
The natural movepool does the job, but Charm and Covet from the egg pool give Jolteon something extra. Pair those with Thunder and Thunderbolt for STAB and coverage across 8 types for reach, and the kit fills out nicely.

Jolteon Black 2 & White 2 Guide
In Black 2 & White 2, Don't let Jolteon's 525 base stat total fool you. Volt Absorb is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it B-Tier as a sweeper. Hiddenpowerice with Flame Orb is the standard set.
In Black 2 & White 2, watch for Rhydon (Ground) when using Jolteon. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.
In Black 2 & White 2, Run Volt Absorb on Jolteon. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Jolteon also gets Quick Feet, but they don't compare. With base 130 Speed, Volt Absorb gives Jolteon an edge before opponents can react.
In Black 2 & White 2, Jolteon fills the sweeper role. It's a special attacker with base 110 Sp. Atk. Base 130 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
In Black 2 & White 2, run Hiddenpowerice, Thunderbolt, Shadow Ball, and Volt Switch on Jolteon. Hiddenpowerice is the most common pick at 0% usage. Thunderbolt provides reliable STAB damage.
Game Availability
