Without Chlorophyll, Tropius wouldn't see any competitive play. With it? It doubles its Speed in sun, turning modest base stats into a real offensive threat. Grass/Flying is solid coverage on top of that. Ground moves can't touch it, which offsets the 5 weaknesses somewhat.
Tropius's spread favors balanced defenses over offense. HP leads the defensive side, Speed eats the cost. Yields 2 HP EVs per defeat. Slow 1.25M XP grind to level.

Tropius Weakness
VulnerableIce, Fire, Poison, Flying, and Rock-type moves hit Tropius for super-effective damage. Ice hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. The upside? Ground-type moves can't touch it at all.

How to Evolve
Breed Tropius easily from the Plant and Monster egg groups. Pass egg moves like Bullet Seed, Curse, Dragon Dance and 9 more to offspring.
Tropius leads with Focus Sash insurance. Even if it can't take a hit naturally, it'll survive long enough to deal early damage. Max Sp. Atk and Speed EVs go all-in on offense since bulk doesn't matter here.

Don't let Tropius's 460 base stat total fool you. Chlorophyll is what makes it tick — it punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier.
Watch for Lapras (Ice), Charizard (Fire), and Nidoking (Poison) when using Tropius. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Lapras is the most dangerous since Ice moves deal 4x damage. Flying and Rock-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
