Stats & Training
Tropius's spread favors balanced defenses over offense. HP leads the defensive side, Speed eats the cost. Yields 2 HP EVs per defeat. Slow 1.25M XP grind to level.
The bunches of fruit growing around the necks of Tropius in Alola are especially sweet compared to those in other regions.
Bunches of delicious fruit grow around its neck. In warm areas, many ranches raise Tropius.
Tropius Weakness
Ice, Fire, Poison, Flying, and Rock moves hit Tropius for super-effective damage. Ice hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. The upside? Ground-type moves can't touch it at all.

Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon Evolution
Tropius is what you get. No evolutions, but it breeds through two egg groups with plenty of partners. Hatching is average hatch time. It's got 13 egg moves worth looking into. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Breed Tropius easily with 67 breeding partners from the Plant and Monster egg groups. Pass egg moves like Bullet Seed, Curse, Dragon Dance and 10 more to offspring.
Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon Tropius Best Moveset
Tropius leads with Focus Sash insurance. Even if it can't take a hit naturally, it'll survive long enough to deal early damage. Max Sp. Atk and Speed EVs go all-in on offense since bulk doesn't matter here.

Tropius Guide
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Don't let Tropius's 460 base stat total fool you. Chlorophyll is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier. Aircutter with Focus Sash is the standard set.
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, watch for Lapras (Ice), Charizard (Fire), and Nidoking (Poison) when using Tropius. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Lapras is the most dangerous since Ice moves deal 4x damage. Flying and Rock-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Run Chlorophyll on Tropius. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Tropius also gets Solar Power and Harvest, but they don't compare.
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Tropius fills the balanced role. It's leaning toward the special side (base 72 Sp. Atk). At base 51 Speed, it won't be moving first often. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, run Aircutter, Dragon Pulse, Giga Drain, and Protect on Tropius. Aircutter is the most common pick at 25% usage. This set covers the balanced role with a mix of damage and utility.
